Mdm. Khor Gek Suan from the School of Languages, Literacies and Translation with three students from Universiti Sains Malaysia, Engineering Campus were awarded sterling SILVER achievement during the Innovations in Teaching & Learning Competition (INTELEC) 2023 for WCC109 Choir course.

Mdm. Khor and her team introduced the use of Yasuhati app and Scream Go Hero app to create an interesting course delivery for WCC109 Choir students. ‘Learn through playing’ is a learning technique which uses games to educate in the classroom. It build up students’ interest in learning singing and Mandarin. By applying this game-based learning in choir class, students can utilise it as a breathing exercise and have better control on their quality and volume of sound while singing. Furthermore, this learning technique can also allow students to master different singing techniques such as falsetto and head voice. It shows that the virtual method of learning is attracting the students for WCC109 Choir course.
